Apparently, Aditya's relationship with Rani was the cause of his breakup with Payel Khanna, his wife of eight years. It had also been reported then that Yash Chopra, father of Aditya Chopra and the head of the Yash Raj Films banner, did not support his son when he started his illicit relationship with Rani Mukerji.
