Denying reports published by a popular website, claiming that Bollywood actress Neetu Chandra did a Yana Gupta and went commando at an event this week, her publicist Dale Bhagwagar said, “Neetu Chandra is a girl with dignity and there has been no slip like this.”

The website had claimed that Neetu replicated Yana Gupta’s panty-less act and said that it seemed to be “intentional and she might have followed it, after seeing what Yana Gupta has achieved doing the same.”

But her publicist dismissed the report as a case of misreporting. “Neetu does not need to resort to any such thing for publicity.

In fact, she was planning to initiate legal action on the website and was in the process of approaching the National Commission of Women (NCW) in New Delhi, when the site tendered an unconditional apology for the news. So the matter stands closed.”

What can we say but… all is well that ends well.

Actors Abhay Deol and Emraan Hashmi have teamed up together for the first time for director Dibakar Banerjee's film "Shanghai".

Produced by PVR Pictures, the movie is the official Hindi adaptation of a political thriller by Greek novelist Vassilis Vassilikos, who wrote about the real-life assassination of a dynamic politician.

The movie has been adapted by Dibakar and his team to the Indian context.

Dibakar, known for his films like "Khosla Ka Ghosla" and "Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye", said the film's two leading actors would be seen donning new reel life avatars, something they haven't done before.

"I'm looking forward to breaking some presumptions with this film. I love the way some people stereotype the dark, kissy, negative bond side of Emraan in his films," Dibakar said in a statement here Wednesday.

"Well this film is going to see him go right into the heat and dust of a hellish Indian small town and its deadly politics. No leather jackets, suave bars and foreign locales."

"Abhay was never seen like this before - in a negative, cold, almost vicious character. Imagine Abhay being the establishment instead of fighting it. He looks at you through his glasses, wearing his stiff shirt and you wonder what's on his mind," he added.

PVR President Kamal Gianchandani is also excited about the project. He said: "To see the two lead characters being brought to life by actors of such contrasting, but equally versatile talent is great."

"Casting Emraan and Abhay in the film was first and foremost a creative decision, but as a producer I am thrilled that it will help to bring to this gripping film audiences from across the spectrum," he added.

Now that Tees Maar Khan is over and done with Farah Khan is all set indulge in her first love, choreography. She's been asked by Aamir Khan to choreograph a song for Delhi Belly a film that for all practical purposes director Abhinay Deo completed a year ago.

But then Aamir has his own unique method of editing packaging and marketing his productions. That Delhi Belly is being given a touch of Farah Khan's choreographic magic would surprise many, and most certainly Abhinay Deo.

Now that his wife Kiran Rao's directorial debut Dhobi Ghat is on releaseAamir Khan's attention is now turning towards the post-production work of his next release Delhi Belly.A project as special to Aamir as Dhobi Ghat since it stars his nephew Imran Khan. The quirky film about a prodigal's return to the Capital has been described as a sex comedy.

Delhi Belly was completed by Abhinay Deo last year. Deo then moved on to his next project Game for producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, leaving the fate of Delhi Belly in his enormously capable producer's hands.

The song choreographed by Farah Khan in Delhi Belly would be filmed on Imran Khan. Apparently Aamir wants the same feeling of youthful vibrancy in it that Farah had created for Aamir in the Pehla nasha number in Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar.

Pehla nasha was the first song that Farha ever choreographed. After Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar she has choreographed only twice for Aamir, in Sarfarosh and Dil Chahta Hai.

Confirming her professional reunion with Aamir after ten years Farah says, “Yes next month I'm doing a song for Aamir's Delhi Belly because he has asked me to. I am meeting him this week to decide everything.”

So does this mean Farah is returning to choreography in a big way?

Retorts Farah, “Not at all!I don't actively do choreography any more. Only a song here or there for friends. Besides Aamir' song I will be doing the Housefull numbers for my brother Sajid and of course my husband Shirish Kunder's Joker. That's it for now. No more choreography this year. I'm busy writing my next script.”

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh has come under the wrath of Income Tax department. King Khan had been gifted a villa in Dubai by the Nakheel Public Joint Stock Company (PJSC). However, this gift has become a problem for the star as I.T department is not ready to consider it as a gift.

According to the I.T department, SRK received this villa in return of lending his name for promoting the company. So, it cannot be considered as a gift and will be taxable. In 2008-09, when SRK paid 126.31 crore as his income tax return, this property was shown as a gift.

The I.T department issued a notice against King Khan saying that he will have to pay tax for this Signature Villa at the Palm Jumeirah, which is worth Rs 17.84 crore. PJSC gifted the villa on September 16, 2007.

However, after scrutinising the returns of SRK, the I.T department has strongly said that it will be taxable and the actor will have to pay penalty for hiding the accurate income.

But Shah Rukh is still maintaining that the Signature Villa does not come under his income, according to the provisions of Section 28 (IV). He said that the income was from his profession, house, property and capital gains.

On November 26, 2010, SRK was issued a notice in this regard from the I.T department. Nakheel also submitted a letter on October 2010, saying that it was not given for any professional services.

Now, it will be interesting to see if SRK can come out of this trouble!

The glitzy world of Bollywood has many enemies and rivals however, Shahrukh Khan is one celebrity who believes in forgetting the past to move on.

At a recent episode of Karan Johar's 'Koffee with Karan', Shahrukh let his heart out as he asked for forgiveness from all friends who have been hurt as a result of him in the past.

Shahrukh wanted to usher in the New Year on a fresh note, however, the Bad Boy of Bollywood, Salman Khan hardly wanted to forget the past. It seems that Salman have taken things with Shahrukh quite seriously and does not want to be friends with the King Khan.

According to sources, Salman was quite miffed with Shahrukh when he apologized on the television show 'Koffee with Karan'. Salman remarked that if Shahrukh wanted to apologize, he should have at least called him up or paid a visit to his house.

It seems that Salman is in no mood to patch up with Shahrukh. Salman seems to quite annoyed with the melodrama that Shahrukh created on the show in front of millions of viewers.

Shahrukh is having a difficult time when Salman became friends with Aamir Khan. The two share a great bond and recently Salman was spotted at Imran Khan and Avantika's Malik's sangeet at Karjat.

Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapur performed at Durban on Sunday night.

The two were seen bonding majorly with each other at a special concert to mark the 150th occasion of Indians coming to South Africa. Shah Rukh, Anil Kapoor and Malaika Arora Khan were also present.

After the event got over, Shahid and PC were spotted enjoying coffee at a local joint. A source reveals, "Going to Durban was like a mini vacation for them.

The film crew insists that director Rajkumar Gupta is smitten by Rani Mukerji

Is No One Killed Jessica director Rajkumar Gupta secretly in love with Rani Mukerji? According to members of the film crew Gupta couldn't take his eyes off her whenever she was on the sets.

Divulges a source, "It was quite obvious for everyone that Raj was quite smitten by her. He found every excuse to be close to her and even insisted on playing a cameo in the film where he gets to propose to Rani's character."

The situation in the script demanded one of Rani's character's colleagues in the office to shout a marriage proposal to Rani.

Apparently, some other actor was supposed to do that role. Raj insisted on playing that role just for the pleasure of proposing to Rani.

When asked about the special bonding with his leading lady, Gupta laughs, "Yes that's me shouting, 'Marry me' to Rani in one sequence.

Someone else was supposed to do the cameo. But no one had the guts to say those two words to Rani. So I took up the challenge."

Choice made

One doesn't know how far Gupta's ardent feelings for Rani go. But one hears he has already decided to cast her in his next film Rapchik Romance, an out-and-out romantic musical with lots of songs, fun and masti.

Says Gupta, "It's too early to talk about whom I'd cast in Rapchik Romance. I'm still writing it.

But yes, it's a film I am very excited about. After Aamir and No One Killed Jessica I don't want to be typecast as the director who

only makes hard-hitting social dramas. I want to surprise everyone, including me." As for casting Rani again, "Why not?" comes the defiant retort.

'King Khan says in Karan Johar's show that he would like to grow up to be like Salman and Aamir

AFTER fighting it out for years for the B-Town crown, Shah Rukh Khan has passed it on to two of his biggest rivals Aamir Khan and Salman Khan.

On the couch of Koffee With Karan (KWK), SRK, in one of his most mellow moods, has spoken candidly about friends, co- stars, films and much more.

But one striking note in this chat appears to be when Shah Rukh reveals that he needs to grow up as Salman and Aamir have.

A source present on KWK, which airs today on Star World, said, "For years Shah Rukh and Aamir have been passing snide remarks about each being King and Ace of the box office and masses.

Shah Rukh and Aamir are two of the most popular Khans and adored by thousands of fans, so the fight for the ultimate title has always been quite an issue with these two stars, as they have always managed to topple each other at some point of time or the other. They have even sarcastically claimed their number one spot at media events."

While both have had equally big hits with 3 Idiots and My Name Is Khan, in recent times their rivalry hit an all-time high when both the stars were reported to sign on projects with international directors with the basic storyline of the city of Mumbai.

Shah Rukh is to do a project with Danny Boyle, who is scheduled to adapt Suketu Mehta's Maximum City. Aamir Khan with director Paul Schrader, is to adapt Extreme City for producer Anubhav Sinha, which will be based in Dharavi, a slum in the city.

However Shah Rukh in KWK has put to rest the Aamir-SRK war when he tells show host Karan Johar, "I am not and can never be as big a star and actor like Salman or Aamir. I would like to grow up to be like them one day."

This was quite a revelation considering SRK is known to be an actor who considers himself the superstar of B-Town and has never made any bones about being the No 1.

Apart from humbly giving up his throne, there's another reason for SRK's statement, the source said. "The fact is Aamir and Salman are senior to SRK in terms of having entered the industry before him.

So, that's also SRK's tongue-in-cheek way of saying he is younger to them in experience and still has a lot to learn."

Samir Soni stays buoyant on his exit from the Bigg Boss house

Samir Soni's eviction from Bigg Boss just before the finale this week, took viewers by surprise. Several expected him to be in the finals and emerge triumphant.

There has been outrage over his exit on several social networking sites even though the model-actor has yet to come to terms with his shock ouster as we ask him...

Did you expect to get out?
No... not all. I was hoping to be in the finals and go through till the last.

Do you think you will be recalled? Anything is possible on a reality show!
I am silently hoping for a miracle still!

Who do you think will win?
I really can't say.

If Bigg Boss had asked you?
Then I would have said Shweta.

Who genuinely deserved to win?
Seemaji she surely did. If she and I were left, I would have had no regrets losing to her. Considering where she came from and where she has to go back to she deserved it.

Did you have a word with the production team and channel about the captain's election?
Yes. There was no captain's election in the house when it was clear that I would be the one. And then I got evicted. I was told it was a creative decision.

Were you the real Samir Soni on the show?
Yes... that's the way I am the way I was on the show. My parents were not keen that I go to Bigg Boss. They told me not to do anything that would embarrass them. I lived by the rules and my beliefs.

All the values that I had learnt all these years came in handy. I don't care what people said about me, it just reflects on them. But I was there when it mattered to take on housemates and issues that needed to be resolved when other housemates were in avoidance mode.

How would you describe your stint in Bigg Boss?
Relaxed. I was away from the mobile phone and the daily hustle-bustle of life. In the house I was in a controlled environment. Imagine living in a world where there were only 14 people and every week, you had to throw one out. They were the only ones so you talked, fought, nominated and evicted too!

Your exit was just in time for New Year's Eve.
By the time, I reached Mumbai it was 10 pm. I was too tired to get out and the traffic was bad, so Neelam had a few friends over.

Is marriage with Neelam on the cards?
Soon, very soon.

Your next step?
I hope my Bigg Boss outing translates into some good work. I have been in the industry for 10-12 years doing modelling, movies and theatre. Now I would love to turn anchor too host a show... a game show maybe. Something like 10 Ka Dum! I know I will do a good job.

Ashmit, winner?
Speculation is rife that Ashmit Patel will win Bigg Boss 4. The finale of the show is slated for January 8. Sources say host Salman Khan, too, is keen that he emerge trumphant.

Ashmit is extremely close to the Khan-daan and is the rakhi brother of Alvira Agnihotri, Sallu's sis. The final episode will have all the evicted housemates together again with their performances. Mallika Sherawat, Jaaved Jaafri and Terence Lewis, judges of Colors' forthcoming dance reality show Chak Dhoom Dhoom may also perform.

Vidya Balan is sporting a de-glam look for her new film No One Killed Jessica. The actor in conversation with Sreya Basu.

How far is No One Killed Jessica true to the real incident? 
No One Killed Jessica is basically a dramatic thriller. It is based on a real-life case…all of us are aware of the Jessica Lall murder. That was the starting point for the film. But obviously there has been certain amount of fictionalization and dramatization. Never-the-less, we tried to retain the original incident to the maximum extent possible.

Which are the parts that have been dramatized?
Basically, we have shown the case from a very interesting and different perspective. So far, we have looked at the case from a crime perspective; we may not have seen it from a humane angle, or from the point of view of a girl who fought for so many years, or the media who worked together to make sure that justice was delivered in this case.

You are playing Jessica's sister (Sabrina Lall) in the film. So, did the film help you understand the case better?
Not because I am working in this film, but even before that, I was aware that whatever happened with Jessica Lall was pathetic and condemnable.

You are sporting a very serious and de-glam look…
Yes. Also, in this film, I speak very less, yet have to speak a lot through my silence. Raj Kumar (Gupta, director) tried to portray the strength of my character in a different way. So, it was very tough for me.

Were your mannerisms in the film similar to 'real' Sabrina?
I have not portrayed Sabrina Lall the way she is in reality. I didn't even meet her until very recently during a press conference in Delhi. The real Sabrina has already gone through it, so she is a much stronger person today. For me, I had to be more vulnerable.

There are reports that you had a cold war with Rani during shooting of the film. True? 
Tiff with Rani? No way. Rani is my favourite actress and I love her.

You are mostly playing an Indian woman or a de-glam character. Do you miss doing masala films? 
Thankfully for me, a lot of interesting films are happening these days, despite the fact that I only want to do roles that are challenging and excite me. I definitely think there are enough scripts to keep me as busy as I want to be. I am not the kind of person who wants to work 365 days a year. I want to do other things in life.

Being an actor, how much of it is looking like a star and how much of it is acting skills? 
I think, in front of the camera, ultimately it's your skill as an actor. There was a time when people used to come to the theatres to watch beautiful people because cinema took you to a world of fantasy. It was aspirational. Today, it has changed.

People now go to a theatre to get entertained, not necessarily look for aspiration. But then, off-screen when you meet them, they expect you to be larger-than-life…glamorous…a star. However, I must say, stars today don't have that magic anymore. We have lost our exclusivity…we are all over the place now.

Are you single?
It's difficult for actors to have relationships because of a time crunch. I don't get time to socialize and am not meeting that many men. And if I am not meeting that many men, how can I find the most interesting one among them?

Aamir Khan gets talking about the genesis of wife Kiran Rao's Dhobi Ghat, his association with it and how he almost never did the film

And to think Aamir Khan was worried he wouldn't like his wife Kiran Rao's script for Dhobi Ghat! AK eventually had to slyly wriggle his way into the film and convince his biwi, the director, that he had to be in the film. He recounts his fears, apprehensions and his experience of working with female directors.

What excited you most about Dhobi Ghat as a producer and as an actor?
I loved the script. When Kiran first told me she was working on a script, I was nervous. One day it would be ready and what if I didn't like it? Nothing about the cast was discussed at that time. Finally, she said 'The script is ready and you can hear it'. I told her. 'Let's go to Coonoor.

Mansoor has been calling us for a long time, he and I will hear it together.' I thought that if he didn't like it, and I didn't either, it would be easier on me. Mansoor, his wife Tina and I listened to the script. And from the first scene itself, the script grabbed us. I loved the characters and the way she wrote the script.

It was very fine writing and I was really impressed. One of the signs of a good writer is that the characters all speak a different language. I found the script very moving. All three of us loved it. I was looking at her with new eyes.

That's when you decided to produce it.
Yes, after hearing the script, I said I was happy to produce it. When it came to casting, I really liked the role of Munna, which Prateik is playing, but it is the role of a young boy in his twenties, so there's no way I could do it.

All the four are equally important but that's the role that's really author-backed. I even told Kiran, I'd really love to play Munna, but that I was not the right age. She said, 'Why are you discussing all that? I am not offering you the film or either part.' And I went 'Oh'. She didn't want me for various reasons.

You've worked with a lot of first time directors, how was this different?
In that sense, it was not different. All the first-time directors I've worked with have been very focused and passionate. So was Kiran. Her strength is that she is extremely clear about what she wants, she knows how to get it and doesn't compromise till she's got it.

She is very good with people. And filmmaking is all about how you inspire people, make them feel good about themselves, so they come out with their best, whether it's actors or technicians. Her energy is positive and it bounces off those around her.

It's a female thing, no?
No. Aisa kuch nahin hai. I don't think so. Raju (Hirani) has a great energy as well. It's a personality thing. That's Kiran's strength her ability to connect with people and she is a great writer.

She also comes with a very fresh approach to cinema and filmmaking which I find very refreshing. The kind of point-of-view she has and the kind of sensibility she has is very different, that's why the film is different. She believes in the detail.

How involved were you with the film besides being an actor?
I was involved with the film like I am with all my films. I was producer as well, like any other film.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of working with your spouse?
(laughs) I have to say it was very smooth like a dream, except Day One. On the first day, when I was shooting, I felt that Kiran was just not bothered about me. She was bothered about everyone else except me. She was taking me for granted. So after four hours I was like, 'Is this how the rest of the shoot is going to be?'

So you loved the experience of working with "Kiran"?
I really enjoy working with her, she is a great director, she is a great partner. When I heard the script, I fell in love with her again. I was already in love with her, but I didn't know she had such talent, such a unique perspective on things that she brought out in the script.

That which I experienced when I heard the script, I experienced again when we made the film. She was totally in control, as an actor I was totally comfortable trusting her. When she says, 'No, I don't want this, ' even if it is something I am telling her, I know I can trust she is taking the right decision. So the way she was in control of the set, of her actors, of her technicians.

So you won the creative arguments?
That depends. See, the director always wins the creative arguments. Even if he agrees with you, he or she has won the argument. Because the director is only concerned with what is good for the film.

Whether a spot boy or a DoP or an actor or a guest tells him that. A good director says, 'Yes, that's right, we should take that advice.' When a director decides to take that advice or suggestion, it becomes his decision. So I always believe that the director wins that argument, whether he agrees with you or disagrees with you.

All your first-time directors have done a good job with you, but their second film has not hit the mark. Do you think Kiran will bear the burden of that?
I don't think that's entirely true.

Everyone thinks this director has done a fabulous job and then after the second film, they realise it was you after all.
That's totally untrue. I want you to know that all the directors I've worked with are people I think are very talented. Otherwise, I would not have worked with them. And what they have made with me is something that has come from within them, whether it is Rakeysh Mehra or Farhan or Ashutosh Gowariker.

I am not saying I don't have the contribution as an actor, but none of these films have been directed by me. Filmmaking is not an easy job, sometimes you do it well, sometimes you don't do it well. It happens to the best of us. So it's got nothing to do with that. Maybe there next film was not that good, but it's got nothing to do with me.

So people will still wait for Kiran's second film.
That won't be a problem, but it will be up to Kiran.

Teen icon Genelia D'Souza is too busy these days with her films It's My Life, Hook Ya Crook and Urumi. In Kolkata to launch Nocturne lounge, the actor tells Sreya Basu that she won't change her mad self for anything.

How will you define yourself as a person? 
I am a person who loves to chill out more than anything else. I spent my entire college life at Café Coffee Day at Carter Road (Mumbai). Even today, I have not changed my lifestyle; I still walk my way from home to the café, though now at times, it's a bit difficult because of my hectic schedules.

And also, because people recognize you?
Yes. But unlike other stars, I thoroughly enjoy it. I get super-excited when someone calls me by my name. I too scream back: 'Aiyeee'. I know, at times, this creates confusion. So I try not to do my mad things all the time.

Tell us about your childhood days.
I grew up in Bandra. I am a complete sportsgirl; I have played everything-from basketball to hockey…the Joggers Park has so much been a part of my life because of my trainings. Not many people know that I am a state-level athlete.

People used to call me a tomboy, though I used to say that I am a tomboy with a feminine side, though even I don't know what that means. (Laughs) I am a mad girl…fully.

How did Bollywood happen to you?
One day I got a call rom Ramoji Rao saying he is doing a Hindi film called Tujhe Meri Kasam and wants to launch me! Now, it was bad enough that I got into modeling because I was from a family who has no clue about the glamour world. And films were something I couldn't even thought of attempting; first because, I was clueless about acting.

And then, in my family, films were like 'No no no, it is a bad world and we can't get into it…bla bla bla.' And these guys kept calling me for a month-and-a-half. Then, my mom said this is an opportunity and that I should try it out. I always have the option to quit if I am not happy with it.

So are you happy the way your acting career has shaped up in Bollywood as well as in South? 
I am totally satisfied. I had a peak, I had a fall, and I have a peak again. But I was never out of work. However, my worst phase taught me a lot. When I am in a hit phase now, I know things can go down. I am really lucky that I got accepted in four industries (Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam).

You are mostly projected as a young, bubbly, chirpy girl. Are you happy with your image? 
Absolutely. I am young, fun-loving. I don't want people to know me as someone who is very reserved and serious type, because I am not.

What is the best thing you got yourself after becoming a star? 
My Bandra apartment. I love bright colours and decked it up accordingly. You will find a red living area, an orange-and-white study-cum-gym, a blue-and-pink bedroom. My home reflects my vibrancy.

Random Fact: Ranveer Singh lives in Bandra

Anushka Sharma now owns a house on Yari Road. Not even a few months old, she already wants to move out to Bandra. "Call me restless. Call me a nomad. Or just mad. But I want to move to Bandra."

Not mob mentality

She adds, "I don't want to do so because everyone from the film industry is moving there. Bandra reminds me of Bangalore where I spent a lot of my growing years.

So yes, even though I am still putting my new home in Yari Road together piece by piece, I've already moved out emotionally."

Makes no difference

Could Anushka's impending move also have something to do with the fact that her Band Baaja Baaraat co-star Ranveer Singh stays in Bandra? "Oh, does he?" Anushka pretends to be unaware of this 'fact'.

"I thought he stayed in Khar. Really, it makes no difference what people think about my relationship with Ranveer.

I don't owe anyone an explanation except my parents. And I've realised saying yes or no to rumours only adds to endless speculation. Better to keep quiet."

We're buddies

Prod her some, and she admits, "We are buddies. We hit it off from Day 1 probably because we're both not industry kids.

As outsiders trying to find a foothold in the industry, I think we empathised with one another from the beginning.
