The SEX and SKIN mela of Bollywood

Those who were out of it called it as a passing phase 

Those who were into it called it the current craze

And Bollywood's obsession with the sex-brigade continues. Bollywood's skin-factory is ceaselessly coming up with more and more sleaze.

The heat doesn't stop with a Murder, Girlfriend or Julie of 2004. With more and more filmmakers trying to play it safe with small films and sizzling subjects, the list is ever growing.

Be prepared for some surprises on the list though. Regular hotties like Mallika Sherawatand Meghna Naidu do not occupy prominent places on the list (but that's just for the time being). On the other hand names like Mahima Chaudhary and Yukta Mookhey do feature in (and that could be for more than the time being).

Double Cross -  Ek Dhoka

The inviting Chal Hutt girl Nigar Khan plays a pole dancer in this film who believes in using her body to entertain people (The last time someone played a pole-dancer in Bollywood was Malaika Arora in Kaante ). And for her role in the film, Nigar underwent pole dance lessons in London. Professionalism we must say!

Sahil Khan plays a young innocent village boy, who is forced to become a Gigolo. Also we have Ayesha Jhulka in the role of a smart businesswoman who believes she can use a man to make money for her.

Ayesha brings Saahil to London where he falls in love with the pole dancer Nigar. And like all skin flicks, this too turns on the who-dun-it path when suddenly Ayesha is murdered.

Haseena  Smart, Sexy and Dangerous

Now if Tata Young described herself as Sexy, Naughty, Bitchy; Isha Koppikar has derived adjectives like Smart, Sexy and Dangerous to illustrate her character of Haseena .

‘This is the boldest film of 2005'  or so say the filmmakers. Isha Koppikar continues her obsessive act but this time she is fortunately attracted towards the opposite sex. She plays the mistress of an old man (Raj Babbar) but desires younger man for herself. Kiran Jhanjani is her object of obsession who in turn is in love with Babbar's daughter (Preeti Jhangiani).

A chain-reaction love story?

Madhubaala

Remember the Preeti Jain rape case that created quite a buzz in July 2004 where a small time model, Preeti Jain had accused director Madhur Bhandarkar of repeatedly having sex with her from 1999 to 2004? Now, the entire Preeti Jain  Madhur Bhandarkar episode will be resurrected through a Hindi film.

Director Shivram Yadav is making a film based on the entire episode. The film titled Madhubala is about an aspiring actress who idolizes Madhubala and turns a big actressbut only after traversing the casting couch route. Kanishka plays the female lead of the film while Sameer Dharmadhikari plays a film director whose character in the film is based on Madhur Bhandarkar. (Incidentally Bhandarkar had introduced Sameer in his film Satta ).

Meanwhile, the makers have not taken permission or talked about their story idea to either Bhandarkar or Jain. However Bhandarkar has no issues with the subject and states that it's a filmmaker's creative right to make a film on any subject he likes. But Preeti Jain is not happy with the theme of the film and adds that she might take legal action.

Adaa - Will Kill U

Did you say Ab... Bas? But the lady wants to continue. Continue her Adaa of shedding more inhibitions (read clothes) and play bold roles.

Ex-Miss World Diana Hayden reportedly plays a character loosely based on the life and times of Princess Diana. The film also stars Meera Vasudevan and Mr. World Rajeev Singh whose characters are again based on Dody's and Camilla Parker Bowels, Prince Charles love interest for the last 25 years. Now, can an Indian production house pull it off? The audience will have to wait till the summer of 2005 when the heat unfolds.

Fun  Can Be Dangerous Sometimes

The Hindi audience got a symbolical feel of wife swapping in Abbas Mustan's Ajnabee . Now you can get a literal feel of husband swapping in Fun  Can Be Dangerous Sometime . From foreplay to bedroom scenes the movie has it all.

The now skin-flick regular Payal Rohatgi and Heena Rehman (who debuted with I - Proud To Be Indian ) brew up the heat factor in Fun that has the 3 requisite S  skin, smooches and sex in ample store.

Payal Rohatgi plays Natasha, an outgoing upper society girl married to a rich businessman, Aryan (played by Siddharth Koirala). Falguni and Urmila are Natasha's friends and very dissatisfied with their married life. To spice up their sex lives Natasha suggests husband swapping to her friends. Though the girls initially hesitate, Natasha subsequently wins their consent.

The three females reach a resort with their husbands to enjoy for a week. Falguni and Urmila successfully swap their husbands. Meanwhile Aryan is attracted towards a young girl, Megha (played by Heena Rehman) and the broad-minded Natasha encourages their relationship. But Aryan realizes that Megha is married to Raj (Aryan Vaid), though they share a strained relationship.

All hell breaks loose on the New Year night when Megha is found dead near the swimming pool. Aryan is held as the murderer. But is he the real culprit or a part of some conspiracy. From here on the erotica film turns on the thriller track.

Bold

Filmmaker K.C.Bokadia (maker of biggies like Aaj Ka Arjun, Lal Badshah and Hum Tumhare Hai Sanam ) turns towards the current call of Bollywood market of small budget skin flicks. For his next film Bold he has signed ex-Miss Madhya Pradesh  Tanvi Verma who promises to live up to the film title by what she claims to offer onscreen.

Tanvi plays a rape victim in the film who subsequently seeks revenge on her assaulter by seducing him. (The film is a remake of one of Bokadia's earlier film Phool Bane Angaray that starred Rekha). Varma has even shot for a topless scene for the movie and justifies her action by stating that a rape is not credible without revealing the upper half of the body. So she agreed with the filmmaker on the topless scene that shows rape and physical torture on her.

With her ‘bold' quotes in the media, Tanvi may give a strong competition to Mallika Sherawat . And with her bold actions Tanvi may even give a run for money to the current hotties like Payal Rohatgi and Rakhi Sawant. 

Sheesha

Dhupia will be duping the men in this film. Neha plays her first negative role inSheesha that is a story of passion, desire, obsession and possessiveness.

Jalwa  Fun in Love

With Tauba Tauba, Payal Rohatgi stuck to fame. But the other female from the filmMonalisa went completely unnoticed. Here she gets her big break in the market of sleazy films with Jalwa  Fun in Love.

Skin flicks perhaps have found their standard source of Hollywood inspiration in the form of the Richard Gere  Diana Lane starrer Unfaithful. And Jalwa comes in as the zillionth version of the flick. Kiran Janjani and Neha Bhatt play the married couple here while Monalisa plays the obsessive ex-lover who tries to disrupt their married life.

Mazaa Mazaa

After  Tauba Tauba, it's Mazaa Mazaa for Payal Rohatgi. She plays a prostitute in the film and is taking the Kareena ‘ Chameli ' Kapoor way of portraying her character to perfection. For the role she personally paid a visit to some red light areas to learn about the conditions and mannerisms of the sex-workers and tried to incorporate them in her character. Her character in the film is reportedly based on noted Mumbai social worker Saroj Khaparde who was born in the red light area and today is one of the most respected society figures.

And no prizes for guessing that the film will have some hot bold scenes by Payal. The actress is just too eager to display before the camera, what the script demands.

Bobby  - Lust and Love

The title Bobby may remind you of the eternal Raj Kapoor classic love story. But this one makes its intentions clear with its tagline that adds lust to love.

Monalisa (again) plays the title role of a Goan girl who comes to Bombay with her boyfriend. But as Bollywood fate would have it, her boyfriend turns out to be a pimp and Bobby turns a hooker. Now does that remind of Julie ?

Memsahab - Lost in Mirage

Ex-Miss World Yukta Mookhey (who made a dismal debut with the forgettable Pyaasa ) attempts a comeback through this film. And what better way to strike a chord with the masses than playing a tart. (Incidentally she was supposed to play a similar role in Manisha Koirala starrer Market but had to drop out due to an injury).

Mem bole toh main sahab bole toh bahut hai  is how the tangy tagline describes the movie theme. But the film claims to be not just a sleaze rut with artistic performances by Vijay Raaz, Rajpal Yadav, Govind Namdeo and Ehsaan Khan. We do not standby though.

Doh Raha

The hooker formula seems to have hooked Bollywood filmmakers in a big way. Here's another one where Sharbani Mukherjee plays a streetwalker. But will she be able to strike a chord. God Only Knows!
